No Place for Hate Committee

Introduction

The Hull No Place for Hate Committee is a non-partisan committee of the Town of Hull. The committee generally meets once a month, either in-person or on Zoom. Meetings are open to the public, are held in accessible locations, and are posted on the town’s website and on the NPFH Committee’s Facebook page. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Mission Statement

Hull No Place for Hate is a non-partisan town committee dedicated to building bridges of understanding within our community. We seek to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among all people. It is our goal to unite people to:

  • Promote a just and inclusive community
  • Provide support and education on diversity
  • Celebrate our differences
Objectives
  • Promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as guiding principles for leadership, action and decision-making in Hull.
  • Support policies that promote equity and respect and that avoid discrimination and bias.
  • Advise the Select Board upon request on matters relating to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Raise our community’s understanding and awareness of discrimination, racism, bigotry, sexism, fear and hatred, and other forms of social injustice.
  • Empower residents and officials to guide the community toward local principles that support social justice, equality, respect and fairness.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents of racism, bigotry and hatred.
  • Sponsor activities that explore the broad spectrum of issues related to hate and that promote an appreciation of diversity.
  • Work to create a truly inclusive community.
