The ELS program is designed to give support to students in our district whose first language is not English. The goal of this program is to help students develop and then further strengthen their English skills in order to be successful in the mainstream classroom.
Week of October 24: MEPA-R/W and MELA-O Testing For English Language Learners (Grades K-12).
The Massachusetts statewide English Proficiency Assessment-R/W (MEPA-R/W) and the Massachusetts English Language Assessment-Oral (MELA-O) are assessment tools designed to evaluate proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills of English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades K–12. ELL students are assessed annually to measure the progress they are making in learning English.
