Hi, everyone! It's so nice to be back. Costa Rica was wonderful, exotic, and very beautiful. It truly is a "Rich Coast." I'd like to share some of my snapshots with you. Mr. Lowry was the photographer. Click on the four arrows and scroll down. Sometimes they look almost 3-dimensional!
Costa Rica is a small country in Central America about the size of West Virginia, populated by approximately 4 million people. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. Our guide said that Costa Rica did not exist until 60 million years ago. Until that time, only water separated North America and South America. Costa Rica is a series of volcanos, some dormant, some active. Our hotel sat at the base of the Arenal Volcano which is presently active.
Here is a Map of Central America. Costa Rica is the green colored country near the bottom of the map.
It takes about 6 hours to fly nonstop from Boston to Costa Rica. We had a great time! Enjoy the photo gallery!
