Chapter 6  Vocabulary

1.      New World:  the Europeans name for lands in the Western Hemisphere, including North and South America

2.    Age of Exploration:  a time in history when people from Europe traveled to faraway and unfamiliar places in order to learn about them and make maps of them- late 1400s through the 1500s

3.   Explorers:  people who traveled to new and unfamiliar places in order to learn what these places are like and describe them with words, pictures, and maps
