Hello Parents!
As we sprint to the end of the school year, there is much to do and many special events happening.
Please post the May and June calendar in a place where you will be reminded of these dates.
If you are able to volunteer for a field trip please contact me. We will choose volunteers as we receive notifications.

Language Arts
This class' writing skills are incredible! Our Spring Journals show a culmination of all that we have learned about print concepts, letter formations. and letter sounds. I am very proud of this class!
I will continue to send home decodable books for reading practice. These should be kept together in a place where your child can access them and should be reread frequently to strengthen decoding strategies.
In addition to the words listed previously, you may provide the following sight words as new words are needed:
by, for, from, has, his, not, out, said, that, this, went, with, your, (number words for 1-10)
The class is enjoying the Red Reader Books that have are being circulated among the class. Each student reads their book to the class and tests the class' comprehension with their reports.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Mathematics
Students are boning up on our number sense by learning number patterns on our 1-100 grid, solving addition and subtraction problems, telling time (hourly), and working with coins at the present time. They will encounter many challenges during Math Week.
Science
Students have been presented with a lot of information in our Physical Science unit about the physical changes in our sky from day to night in our most recent chapter. These lessons have prompted good discussion as students ask questions about subjects they wonder about.
Please continue to work on these skills for occasional homework and read to your child nightly.
