3. Can my child buy milk to eat with snack? No, the cafeteria is not open for service when it is snack time.
4. What are the options to pay for milk/lunch? Do I have to send exact change? It is convenient to have exact change, however the lunchroom staff will make change.
5. Do I believe my child when he/she tells me that "everyone" buys their lunch as I pack his/her lunch each day? Not all children buy lunch. Many children bring a lunch from home each day.
6. How is milk/lunch money handled? Does my child give the money to the teacher or directly to the lunch server? Money is given directly to the lunch staff when the meal is purchased.
7. In winter, do the children wear boots and bring shoes to change into? Yes, the children change into their shoes/sneakers and their boots are left in their cubby.
8. Can I bring a cake or cupcakes for my child's birthday? Yes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies are a nice choice for birthdays. We are a peanut free school. Please check ingredients to make sure there are no peanuts or peanut oil in the ingredients. Cakes are difficult for the children to distribute to their classmates.
9. How do I get in touch with the other children in the class if I want to invite them to a party? Each teacher has their own way of passing out invitations. We put them in the children's cubbies or backpacks prior to dismissal.
10. What is the most effective way of communicating with the teacher-e-mail, note, or phone? Any of these ways are fine.
If you call the school your call will be forwarded to the teacher's answering machine.
11. On early release days, do the children need a snack? Please send a snack on early release days.
12. How will I know that my Cori form has been approved and that I am available to volunteer in the school? Call the office to check on the status of your Cori paper and let the teacher know that you are available to volunteer. A day & time will be scheduled for you by the teacher.
