Reading
We are launching our readers' workshop by learning to select "just right" books and learning that readers are always thinking about what they are reading. An excellent way to spend time with your child is to read aloud to them along with them. Stop, think, and discuss the characters, setting, and plot of the story as you read. Your child will gain a better understanding of your shared reading.
Math
In Unit 5 of Everyday Math we will explore place value in whole numbers and decimals. We go over base-ten place-value system to whole numbers through millions and to decimals through thousandths. We will apply these concepts to reading, writing, comparing, and ordering whole numbers and decimals and to use whole numbers and decimals in real-life contexts.

Homework is be assigned Monday through Thursday. Please review your child’s homework for neatness and accuracy. Please sign the homework book each day that homework is assigned and return the book back to class. Thank you:)
**On Thursdays, a folder will be sent home with the weekly notices and classwork papers. Please return that empty folder on Friday morning.
