Course Overview:
This one semester elective course is focused on the United States Government, the ways it is organized and the ways it is controlled by the people. Attention will be given to the principles of government, the origins of American government and the Constitution. The course will provide and in depth analysis of the liberties contained in the Bill of Rights. There is an emphasis placed on critical thinking and reading, analysis, interpretations, and verbal and written communications skills.

Course Policies:
Attendance, tardiness, behavioral consequences, academic dishonesty, and makeup of missing work- As outlined in the Hull High Student Handbook.
Class Preparation – Bring the textbook, pen/pencil notebook and agenda to class everyday and complete the assigned readings.
Homework – Homework will be given most nights. Homework is given as and aid to understanding the concepts and skills presented in class and to reinforce the assigned readings.
Classroom rules – Be on time. Be respectful and use appropriate language at all times.
Extra help – Mondays and Wednesdays days after school until approximately 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise pre-arranged.
