Graduating Senior who has either played football or cheered in a HYFA Program

"Service Above Self" Scholarship/Rotary Club
The Rotary Club awards scholarships on the basis of scholastic ability and achievement, community involvement, financial requirements, recommendations of the school guidance counselors, teachers, community leaders and employers
Amount: up to $2,500.00
Eligibility: Must be a resident of either Hingham or Hull, a member of the senior class, and has been enrolled since January or their sophomore year.

MARCH 2010
Mark Bavis Foundation
Amount: annual grants ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 to be used as specifically requested for school tuition, summer programs and other appropriate extracurricular activities
Eligibility: any high school student in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Order Sons of Italy in America Grand Lodge of Massachusetts
Amount: minimum of 25 scholarships at a max. of $1,000 each

The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusettts Independent Order of Odd Fellows
Amount: $500.00

2010 Education Exchange College Grant Program
Amount: four (4) $5,000.00 grants; thirty (30) $1,000.00 grants
Eligibility: Recipients will be selected based on scholastic achievement, character and leadership, essay responses, and financial need. Complete rules and eligibility requirements are included on the application form, which is available at all South Coastal Bank branch locations.

Good Sport Scholarship
Amount: $5,000.00
Eligibility: high school athletes who participated in a varsity level sport who will be furthering their education by attending a two-or four-year accredited college or university in the fall. Students must have earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher and performed volunteer work in the community to be eligible.
Due Date: March 19th at 3:00 p.m.
The Humane Society of the United States Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship
Each year the scholarship is awarded to a New England high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time.
Amount: $2,000.00
Eligibility: Actions meriting the award may include long-term, direct work on behalf of animals; inspiring leadership in animal protection organizations; papers, speeches, or presentations on humane topics; and heroic rescues of animals in danger. A humane attitude, an understanding of humane ethics, and past performance on behalf of animals are essential.

"Elsie Frank Scholarships" offered through the Greater Boston PFLAG
Amount: up to $10,000
Eligibility:
member of the graduating class of 2010

Quest Bridge College Prep Scholarship
QuestBridge is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit program that provides awards that equip outstanding low-income students to compete for admission to top-ranked colleges.
Amount: 10 full scholarships so college summer programs; 8 Quest for Excellence Awards, which include new laptop computers, full scholarships to college summer programs, and career mentoring opportunities; 40 awards of college admissions counseling provided by experienced QuestBridge staff; 1,000 invitations to QuestBridge College Admissions Conferences at Stanford and Yale; 100 all-expense-paid visits to leading colleges.
Eligibility: a high school junior who has a strong academic record and an annual household income of less than $60,000.

New England Patriots Write On Scholarship

The Pirandello Lyceum of Greater Boston
The Pirandello Lyceum is a private, non-profit organization that aims to encourage a greater understanding and appreciation of Italian culture among all people.

Yankee Conference (YC) South Hockey League
Amount: four $250.00 scholarships

Howard M. and Mary C. Hayward Memorial Scholarship
The Howard M. & Mary C. Hayward Memorial Scholarship fund was established to honor the memory of Howard and Mary Hayward who were devoted Massachusetts farmers, land stewards, and dedicated environmentalists. The fund was established to reward a high school senior, planning to pursue a college education, for a high quality 500 word essay pertaining to agriculture and/or the enviroment.
Amount: $500.00
Eligibility: Any graduating senior in Bristol, Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties who will be pursuing further education in agriculture, aquaculture or a related science and will be entering college in the Fall fo 2010.
Due Date: postmarked or emailed by April 9, 2010.
Pilgrim Skating Arena
Amount: $5,000.00
Eligibility: Any high school senior planning to further their education at an accredited institution of higher learning.
Due Date: April 15, 2010
Applications are available at the Pilgrim Skating Arena, 75 Recreation Park Drive, Hingham. Seniors must pick up and sign for the application in person at the arena pro shop.
The Plymouth County Beekeepers Association
Amount: $1,000.00
Eligibility: Any high school senior who has been accepted to an accredited 4 year college. The student must be interested in studying science. Beekeeping interest is a plus.

MRA Educational Foundation Co-Branded Scholarships
The MRA Educational Foundation in partnership with the NRA Educational Foundation will be awarding scholarships in amounts up to $2,000. Candidates must be ProStart students, or college undergraduates, high school seniors or graduates, or GED credential holders.
Amount: up to $2,000.00
Eligibility:
-Accepted to, or enrolled in, an accredited restaurant or foodservice-related, post secondary program, either full-time or substantial part-time (min. 9 credit hours).
-Have U.S. citizenship and be a Massachusetts resident
-Have a minimum GPA of 2.65 on a 4.0 scale, or GED test results of 470 or more
-ProStart and other high school seniors must have a minimum of 250 hours of restaurant/foodservice work experience. Graduates, undergraduates, and GED credential holders must have a minimum of 750 hours of restaurant/foodservice-related work experience.

William T. Adams Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship, created in honor of the founder of the Choral Art Society, will be awarded to a graduating senior student from the South Shore who plans to pursue music as a major in college.
Amount: $750.00
Eligibility: Any graduating senior in the towns of Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Hull, Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, and Scituate who are applying for further study of music in all areas of concentration - conducting, history, literature and theory, performance, music management and merchandising, theory and composition, etc.

Combined Jewish Philanthropies
The Combined Jewish Philanthropies Scholarship Fund coordinates and administers a number of funds providing supplemental financial assistance to eligible undergraduate students in the Boston area. Primary consideration is given to Jewish students.
Amount: Awards generally range between $1,000 and $6,000
Eligibility: Undergraduate students attending two-year or four-year accredited institutions as well as vocational certificate programs are eligible to apply. Greater Boston residency requirements apply, and independent students must have spent at least two full years as a resident in the area.
Due Date: April 30 for students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year. For fall freshman, the deadline is May 15th.

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic excellence, a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society, good character, and a strong work ethic. These awards are limited to permanent residents of New England.
Amount: varies, ranging from $3,000 - $10,000

The Robert A. St. Pierre Award
The Duxbury Art Association grants this award annually to a high school senior who plans on further studies in the visual arts.
Amount: $1,000.00
Eligibility: Graduating senior who plans further studies in the visual arts at an art school, college, university or through an organized program of art study; including an apprenticeship or private study with an artist.

JUNE 2010
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
The purpose of the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program is to promote student achievement by recognizing students who show promise of continued excellence.
Amount: up to $1,500
Eligibility: a high school senior who is a resident of Massachusetts for at least one year; who will graduate from high school or have a recognized equivalent of a high school diploma; who has applied or been accepted at an accredited institution of higher education; who is a US citizen, national or permanent resident; earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 or verification of being ranked in the top 5% of their class academically.
