The Department of Education's Student Aid Website (www.studentaid.ed.gov) includes an early estimator that allows families to use current earnings as a basis for estimating what they will be expected to pay for their child's first year of college.

Educational Opportunity Centers: displaced or underemployed workers from low-income families are given counseling about career and postsecondary options, and are directed towards financial aid opportunities.
