Funding for after-school music programs has been restored this year due to some federal grant money, so our recital series is back on for the 2010-2011 school year!
If you plan on participating in the concert this year as an alumnus, I would like to know as soon as possible. If anyone would like to help coordinate the alumni, that would be extremely helpful.
Without a very strong alumni showing, we will be unable to present the Band portion of the concert. There is only a Jazz Band Combo this year from the high school, so to put on the material that has happened for so many years, we will depend on alumni to play. Last year, only one alumnus came for the rehearsal, so we did not perform the traditional Band program at all.
Some alumni have expressed a desire to do a smaller alumni group, like a jazz combo or doing some Trans-Siberian Orchestra type music. If you are interested, please let Mr. Gilliam know so rehearsals can be scheduled. cgilliam@town.hull.ma.us
We'd also like a strong Chorus showing to keep that alive as well. Last year the alumni chorus pulled through and did turn out to make some great music. Please let me know if you are planing on attending. cgilliam@town.hull.ma.us

54th Annual Holiday Alumni Concert

NOTE: The way the concert schedule is determined is as follows - The Holiday Concert is held the last week of school - this generally turns out to be the week before (or of) Christmas. The week prior is the pre-rehearsal , if any. The week of the show has a Monday rehearsal for Band, and a Tuesday rehearsal for Chorus, followed by a Wed. concert, with a snow date for Thurs. See below for details on the idea.
Pre-rehearsal - TBD: This would normally occur one week before the concert, if being offered. Alumni interested in rehearsing prior to the week of the show (maybe those jazz and rock alumni, or the choir with more intricate music???) should contact Mr. Gilliam if they would like to have an early rehearsal. cgilliam@town.hull.ma.us

Then, the 54th Annual Holiday Alumni Concert will be presented for all on
Wednesday, December 22nd, at 7:00 p.m.in the
HHS Joseph C. Doniger Auditorium.
